The general philosophy at Inscope Training is that you are allowed to access all, or a portion of the course materials and assessment before payment is required, to ensure you are confident that the course content and mode of delivery is suitable for your style of learning.
If you have enrolled in a course that requires payment up front, we urge you to take our language literacy and numeracy indicator tool before you enrol. It’s free, and it will give you a very good indication of whether you have the necessary skills to complete the course you are interested in. One of our trainers will contact you if we feel you do not yet have the necessary skills for that course.
Once you decide to continue your training and pay for a course, you are not normally entitled to a refund of fees unless extenuating circumstances exist.
If you can demonstrate that extenuating or significant personal circumstances that led to your withdrawal from a course, you may be eligible to either a refund, or an offer for full credit towards the tuition fee in another scheduled program in-lieu of a refund.
Please note that failing or refusing to take part in a ‘verification’ in an online course is NOT considered to be grounds for Inscope Training to issue a refund.
Inscope Training’s Chief Executive Officer will notify you in writing of his decision in these circumstances.
Where refunds are approved, the refund payment must be paid to you within 14 days from the time you gave written notice to cancel their enrolment.
Tuition refunds are to be paid via electronic funds transfer using the authorised bank account nominated by you on the Refund Request Form (accessed via the Resources tab on our website).
Refund policy when disciplinary action has been taken
If Inscope Training becomes aware of a student participating in fraudulent activities such as cheating or plagiarism on assessments:
- The student’s enrolment will be cancelled
- The student will forfeit all monies paid, and
- The student will not be issued a Statement of Attainment or Qualification.
Applying for a refund
All applications for refund must be made through Inscope Training’s refund request form located here: Refund Form
Upon receipt of your request and within 10 business days, the CEO of Inscope Training will either approve or reject your request and you will be advised via email of the outcome of your application. Students can appeal a refund decision - please refer to the Inscope Training’s appeal’s process located here: Appeal Form
Refund policy summary
We have tried to cover as many circumstances as possible regarding the eligibility of refunding fees in the following table. You are encouraged to contact Inscope Training on 1800 579 808 to talk to one of our trainers who will be able to help you with your individual circumstances.
|A student has paid their enrolment fees, has been enrolled in a course/unit of competency and has not commenced any learning activity, then withdraws.||Inscope Training will refund all fees paid.|
|A student has paid fees, been enrolled in a course/unit of competency, has engaged in learning activity and then withdraws. (AVETMISS 40)||No refund given. Note: This includes a student who:
|A student is a student undertaking a VETiS program under fee-for-service arrangements - Student has paid fees for full course, been enrolled, has engaged in learning activity and then withdraws.||No refund given for units of competency where there is evidence of learning activity, that is, where the student is withdrawn and AVETMISS 40 code is used. Inscope Training will provide a refund for those units of competency where no learning activity is recorded. No administration fee will be applied to process the refund application.|
|A student withdraws due to extenuating circumstances (financial and/or personal hardship beyond their control) after engaging in learning activity. (AVETMISS 40)||Inscope Training will consider each request of this nature on a case-by-case basis.|
|A student is an apprentice or trainee - Student withdraws from course before commencing any learning activity. (AVETMISS 81 – if Induction has been undertaken and paperwork received)||Inscope Training will refund the entire tuition fee for the unit of competency. No administration fee will be applied to process the refund application.|
|A student is an apprentice or trainee - Student withdraws from the course after commencing training activity. (AVETMISS 40)||Inscope Training will refund a proportionate amount of the tuition fee for the unit of competency using Inscope Training's Refund Calculator.|
|In the event Inscope Training is unable to commence the course for which the original enrolment and payment have been made.||Inscope Training will provide a full refund of all fees paid or provide placement in an appropriate alternative, in accordance with the student’s preference. No administration fee will be applied to process the refund application.|
|In the event Inscope Training is unable to deliver the training course. (AVETMISS 41)||Inscope Training will provide a refund for any unit of competency not completed and a Statement of Attainment for any completed Unit of Competency. Inscope Training will endeavour to assist students with finding another training organisation to deliver the desired training. No administration fee will be applied to process the refund application.|
|Cancellations for a short course (such as CPR/First Aid, LVR, or White Card) with sufficient and reasonable notice - Cancellations are accepted up to two (2) business days prior to the course start date.||If sufficient notice has been given, the student will be provided with a full refund within 10 business days of notifying Inscope Training.|
|Non-attendance and cancellations of a short course with short notice.||If a student does not attend their scheduled course or provides notice of non-attendance which is less than two(2) business days from the start date:
|Conditions for re-scheduling a short course attendance.||In situations where a student is able to provide Inscope Training with at least two (2) business day's notice of their non-attendance at a scheduled course, the options available to the student are:
Refund payment method
In circumstances where a refund of student fees applies, Inscope Training will utilise the following methods of refund:
- Where the original fees were received by Inscope Training via a current credit card, the refund will be credited back against the originating credit card.
- Where the original fees were received by Inscope Training via direct deposit, the refund will be via an EFT reversal.
All students have a right to appeal a refund decision made by Inscope Training. If dissatisfied with the outcome of Inscope Training’s appeals process, a student can lodge a complaint with the following organisations:
- Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) through the ASQA complaints handling service for complaints against RTOs at www.asqa.gov.au or phone 1300 701 80
- The relevant State Training Authority (STA) which in Queensland is the Department of Education and Training at www.training.qld.gov.au
