Funding Programs for Training

Queensland

As a Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) approved by the Queensland Government Department of Trade, Employment and Training, Inscope Training is trusted to deliver government-subsidised training across our qualification courses.

This means eligible students may have little to no out-of-pocket costs. The following funding programs can significantly reduce course fees or cover them entirely:

VET in Schools (VETiS2026) Program

The VETiS2026 Program supports secondary school students to complete qualifications while still at school, giving them skills and knowledge aligned to their future career goals. For eligible students we offer Certificate I qualifications under the Certificate Training Pathway.

Career Start Program

The Career Start program helps Queenslanders gain real-world skills to enter the workforce, grow in their trade, or secure full-time employment through apprenticeships or traineeships.

For eligible students on an Apprenticeship Pathway, the Queensland Government provides subsidies toward training costs — keeping your out-of-pocket training expenses low. These out-of-pocket training expenses are known as the co-contribution fees.

Co-Contribution Fees

If you're not eligible for fully subsided training under the Free Apprentices for Under 25s program or you're not except from co-contribution fees as a School-Based Apprentice or Trainee, you’ll still benefit from significantly reduced course fees through the Career Start program. In this case a small co-contribution fee will apply, which you or your employer will need to pay.

The co-contribution fee is based on the nominal hours for each unit of competency, and is paid gradually over the course of your training. If you are required to pay a co-contribution fee, you or your employer will be invoiced before the unit of competency is opened and must be paid before you can start the training for that unit of competency.

Click on the qualification below to download the Schedule of Fees for the total co-contribution fee and a breakdown of fees by unit of competency

Co-contribution fees by course

Course Co-Contribution

CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry $1,753.60 $701.44 34 units = 27 core + 7 elective
CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating $1,672.00 $668.80 29 units = 26 core + 3 elective
CPC31220 Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining $1,483.20 $593.28 29 units = 22 core + 7 elective
CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling $1,472.00 $588.80 20 units = 17 core + 3 elective

The above total co-contribution fees are based on our default units of competency offerings. If you choose to swap out an elective the total cost may be more or less. Speak to one of our friendly team to swap out an elective and recalculate your co-contribution fees.

Do you qualify for a concession?

To qualify as a concession holder for reduced co-contribution fees you need to:

  • Hold a Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, or Veteran Card, or
  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, or
  • Are under 17, not at school and haven't completed Year 12, or
  • Are facing genuine financial hardship (evidence required)

Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s Program

If you're under 25 and meet the other eligibility criteria for the Free Apprenticeships for Under 25s program your training is provided fully subsided. That means no co-contribution fees — your apprenticeship training costs are completely covered.

School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships Program

Eligible high school students in Years 10, 11, and 12 can kickstart their careers through the School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATs) program . SATs allow students to begin a paid apprenticeship or traineeship while still at school, combining senior studies with hands-on work experience and training toward a nationally recognised qualification. Funding is available for one SAT at a time. School-based apprentices do not pay the co-contribution fee but if you continue your apprenticeship or traineeship after school, then you may have to pay these fees.
