Silica dust has been a long standing health hazard which has caused a great deal of disease and death. Inhaling dust that contains silica particles can build up in the lungs and scar them, resulting in silicosis.
In Inscope Training's Silica Safety Awareness course you will learn about the basics of silica and silica dust and how to control exposure to it.

Course outline
In this online Silica Safety Awareness course, you will learn about the basics of Silica and Silica Dust encountered during construction activities. This course will identify:
- basic health hazards associated with exposure to silica and respirable crystalline silica dust
- common construction tasks that could result in exposure
- typical control measures that may be implemented to protect workers from exposure to silica and the dust including engineering controls, work practices and respirators.
