The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course is the current national standard qualification for first aid providers in the workplace. This course is also known as Apply First Aid and Senior First Aid.

Our Provide First Aid course is delivered in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and applies to all workers or members of the community who may need to provide CPR in an emergency.
For individuals:
- Who may need to provide first aid as an emergency first response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings
- Who want to keep themselves and those around them safe in the workplace
This course may save a life, at home or in any workplace.
For businesses:
- That need their employees to be first aid-ready

- A computer, tablet or smartphone
- Identification document, such as a driver's licence, passport or 18+ card
- Ability to attend our training centre for the practical component. Use our online booking system to arrange a practical assessment at a date and time that suits you, or we can come to your workplace for group bookings of 5 people or more
- Physical ability to perform at least 2 minutes of continuous CPR on a manikin while kneeling on the floor
- An average English Language, Literacy and Numeracy skill level
- A Unique Student Identifier (USI). Apply for a USI at usi.gov.au
From 1 July 2025, new national requirements mean we’ll need to assess your existing skills before finalising your enrolment. As part of your application, we’ll ask a few simple questions to check that your Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills — along with your physical readiness — align with the course requirements. It’s all about making sure you’re set up for success from the very start!
