HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

Overview

This course has been developed for educators and support staff working within an education and care setting, who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. It is delivered in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

You will gain the confidence and ability to recognise an emergency situation, identify and respond to hazards, and provide an effective first aid response to infants, children and adults.

Course requirements

The course requires:

  • Access to the Internet. (Some of this course is delivered online)
  • Identification document such as a driver's licence, passport, 18+ card
  • Ability to attend one of our training centres to attend a practical assessment. You can use our online booking system to arrange a practical assessment at a date, time, and place that suits you
  • Physical ability to perform at least 2 minutes of CPR on a manikin on the floor
  • Average literacy and numeracy skills - access our free LL&N assessment tool if you are unsure).
